SYNOPSIS

Nothing, no law, no god, no sacred social taboo can save us from what we are.

Stephen Sewell's the flesh of the FRIGHTENED HEART, the cry of the FALLEN SOUL, is a series of three one-act plays focused on the harrowing last moments of four individuals as they stand on the precipice, ready to teeter into the unknown darkness that is the evil of human nature.

FRIGHTENED HEART, FALLEN SOUL (also known as DARK PATHS) was produced in partnership with the Metro Arts ExperiMetro program.  This series of three short works (NIL, CAT and BURIED) were performed in the Level 2 Seminar Studio Space, accompanied by an exhibition of photographs taken by Christopher Houghton entitled SCENES FROM ACROSS THE HALL in the opposite gallery space, some of which are featured here.
